The TT Shirt is made of a very soft, thick linen twill. The nidom process, in which the fabric is kneaded and beaten to soften it, leaves a washed-out feeling and a rustic texture.
The selvage is exposed at the hem, the tee has an oversized relaxed fit and a ribbed collar.
Tukir is quality home garment brand exclusively made in Japan. The aim is to show the beauty of the aging process of fabric and garments. In Tamil, Tukir is the color of the Nipponia Nippon, an endangered specie of bird. It also has the same pronunciation as the word “time” in ancient Japanese. Tukir has a focus on deep sustainable research. Together with their niche Japanese textile company, they researched and tested the aging of the garments over the course of years. They use pre-industrial fabric manufacturing techniques and create each piece by considering how it the fabric and design will change over time allowing the garment to become more charming with wear.
